Moss Patterson - Artistic Director and Choreographer
Award winning choreographer Moss Patterson has over 13 years experience in creating and delivering powerful performances in the indigenous dance space.
Having performed and choreographed for Atamira, Black Grace and Footnote Dance companies, Moss was awarded Best New Choreographer by The New Zealand Listener and Best Choreography by Tempo Dance Festival for Atamira’s Te Paki, Haka and Te Whenua. Moss also co-choreographed the widely-lauded New Zealand Rugby World Cup 2011 opening ceremony and large-scale works Sacre, Poutama, Takarangi and Te Manu Ahi in association with Auckland Philharmonia. A recipient of the Creative New Zealand Tup Lang Dance scholarship and the Te Whakahaungia Choreographic Award from Toi Maori Aotearoa. Moss’ most recent choreography for Atamira, Moko, was performed at the prestigious Jacob’s Pillow Festival in 2013. A regular speaker at local and international events, Moss is a passionate advocate for the preservation of Maori culture and contemporary dance in New Zealand.

Kelly Nash - Associate Choreographer
One of New Zealand’s leading dancers and choreographers, Kelly Nash has worked with Douglas Wright, Michael Parmenter, Sean Curham, Shona McCullagh, Ann Dewey, Mary-Jane O'Reilly, Malia Johnston, Claire O'Neil, Daniel Belton, Carol Brown and Atamira Dance Company.
Indigenarchy Kelly’s choreography for Atamira, toured Hamilton, Taupo, Rotorua and the Solomon Islands in 2011 then went on to be performed in the US including at the prestigious Jacob's Pillow Festival in Massachusetts in 2013.

Megan Adams - Rehearsal DirectorMegan Adams, a graduate of the New Zealand School of Dance, is a dancer, choreographer, rehearsal director and teacher. She has tutored at TAPAC, Unitec, PIPA and Toi Whakaari (The NZ Drama School) and has worked in schools as a dance in education tutor for The Royal New Zealand Ballet and Markham Arts.
Megan was the choreographic assistant for Douglas Wright's Black Milk and Rapt and is currently working on Wright’s new work for 2014. She has also worked on Sacre with the Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra, Trash to Fashion, theatre work 360 by Peta Rutter, Carl Bland and Ben Crowder and has worked on films The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and King Kong.

Andrew Miller - Dancer
A recent graduate of the New Zealand School of Dance, the multi-talented Miller has a background in musical theatre – for which he was awarded an international scholarship for musical theatre dance performance.
Andrew has since worked with international choreographers including Lina Limosani and Ivica Novakovic and danced with Atamira and Black Grace companies and The World of Wearable Arts. Andrew has also performed with Southern Lights Dance Company as part of the Christchurch Dance Festival, the Tempo Dance Festival and toured with Atamira as part of the North American and Hawaiian 2013 Kaha tour.
Andrew’s self-choreographed solo Narrowed Down was showcased at the Insight Performance at the NZSD and his full company choreography Im-Pulse has been featured in the NZSD Choreographic Season.

Bianca Hyslop - Dancer
Since graduating from Unitec in 2009, Bianca has been consistently active as a professional freelance dancer for some of New Zealand’s leading Maori contemporary dance companies and projects.
In 2013 Bianca was awarded the prestigious Eileen May Norris Dance Scholarship, which enabled Bianca to travel internationally and to develop as a dancer, performance artist, collaborator, teacher and choreographer. Bianca is passionate using the body to define and express stories; she aspires to be a future leader in the art of dance.

Daniel Cooper - Dancer
A graduate of The New Zealand School of Dance, Daniel Cooper has worked with numerous dance companies, including Douglas Wright and Black Grace. Daniel has performed at numerous festivals and theatres around the world including the prestigious Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival and a month’s season off Broadway in New York City.
Daniel was choreographer for popular TV shows Stars in their Eyes, Montana Sunday Theatre Life's a Riot and assistant choreographer for the much loved The World Of Wearable Arts.
An educator with the Royal New Zealand Ballet, Daniel is passionate about sharing dance with people of all ages and levels.
A graduate of The New Zealand School of Dance, Daniel Cooper has worked with numerous dance companies, including Douglas Wright and Black Grace. Gabrielle Thomas - Dancer
Trained at New Zealand School of Dance and Unitec, Gabrielle began her career with Raewyn Hill and Black Grace companies before joining Atamira in 2006.
As well as tutoring at Unitec and other youth initiatives plus starting her own family, Gabrielle has also choreographed a number of her own works including Hapu, which won her Most Inspiring Performance at the Tempo Dance Festival.
A passionate advocate of Maori arts and culture, Raranga (weaving) and Te Reo continue to inform and inspire Gabrielle’s creative development as an artist.
Trained at New Zealand School of Dance and Unitec, Gabrielle began her career with Raewyn Hill and Black Grace companies before joining Atamira in 2006.

Mark joined Atamira in 2010, where he has performed in Taonga: Dust, Water, Wind, Hou, Tohu and Kaha which has toured around New Zealand, the Pacific, Hawaii and the US, featured at the Jacob’s Pillow Festival and in San Francisco at the 2013 America’s Cup.

With Atamira Dance Company, Nancy has performed in Hou, Tohu and Kaha which has toured around New Zealand, the Pacific, Hawaii and the US, including performances at the Jacob’s Pillow Festival and in San Francisco at the 2013 America’s Cup. Nancy’s own choreography for Atamira Paarua, toured in the recent North American and Hawaiian Kaha tour.
