"In Moko I strive to make connections in space and in movement which are drawn from both traditional haka and traditional symbols used in painting carving and incising the skin. Moko is connected via the lines of ancestry to our current state of emotions and understanding. In Moko there is a story…A powerful man with an inner fragility prevails against dominant energy around him. Power erupts with volcanic force. Violence transforms to calmness by the invisible touch of the ancestors, and new life is found when the ties that bind us are unleashed.
